We offer a range of retreats throughout the year from introductory weekend retreats, open to all, to in-depth retreats that enable us to deepen our experience of Buddha’s profound and compassionate teachings. Tara KMC is a perfect environment in which to engage in any retreat. You can come for a day, a weekend, a week or a month to suit your interest and circumstances.
What to Expect on Retreat
A retreat is an opportunity to step back from the busy-ness of our modern daily life and to take some time to regain some calm and balance in our mind. All retreats at Tara KMC involve contemplation and meditation on Buddha’s advice for finding and maintaining a peaceful mind.
Each retreat is led by an experienced teacher from Tara KMC or by a visiting senior Kadampa teacher. A retreat will usually include 4 meditation sessions each day with each session containing brief prayers and teachings followed by guided meditations.
In depth retreats provide an opportunity to grow closer to particular Kadampa Buddhist practices. For more information on these retreats please contact us.
