22. ‘Real Life Wisdom’ Day Course with Gen Losang ~ Saturday 17th April
£0.00 – £30.00
10am to 4pm
This class is offered as both in-person and live stream.
In the Sutras Buddha said that all phenomena are just mere name. This implies that beyond the mere name nothing exists at all. Because we don’t have this realization we all identify ourselves mistakenly and due to this, we develop mistaken appearances and experience problems continually.
In this day course, Gen Losang will explain how to use the wisdom of seeing things as just mere name. He will describe how to practice this profound view in daily life in a practice called ‘illusion-like emptiness’. If we can learn to practice this we will see how to live life with wisdom, not be led by the ignorance of self-grasping. We will not only find it easier to transform difficulties but our wisdom will increase day by day and we will eventually know how to solve all our problems with this wisdom view.
This course is suitable for beginners and everyone is welcome. The course begins at 10am and ends at 4pm and consists of guided meditations and teachings over three sessions.
Session One: 10 – 11:15am
Session Two: 12 – 1:15pm
Session Three: 2.45-4pm
Gen Losang Kelsang was ordained as a Buddhist monk in 1983 and spent several years in retreat under the guidance of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche and later taught Kadampa Buddhism internationally in many countries such as the UK, Mexico, the US, Spain, Taiwan, Switzerland, and Japan. He has recently guided retreats at the International Spring and Summer Festivals to thousands of people.
As one of Venerable Geshe-la’s most senior students, Gen Losang has a great depth of understanding of the teachings and is very skilful in sharing them in a practical, approachable and light-hearted manner. He is lovingly regarded for his insightful teachings and serves as an inspiration through his devoted practice.
Everyone must arrive by 9.50am for a safety briefing. Everyone must wear a mask in meditation hall.
For arrival, you need to park on the basketball court. To access the court, just drive past the cafe courtyard entrance and down the lane passing the barn on your left, then the houses on your right. When you get to the house at the bottom (pond cottage) the lane bends to the right and then you will see the court from there. Then walk up to the meditation hall (left hand side of building) where you will be met by a centre manager.
