We offer a two week residential package consisting of the screening of the International Spring Festival and the Post Festival Retreat with Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab, which he will teach in-person.
Set in 38 acres of parkland and gardens, Tara IKRC provides very comfortable and relaxing conditions for a two-week break.
The full dates are from Friday 28th May to the Thursday 10th June. The festival runs from Friday 28th to Wednesday 2nd June. There is then free time until the retreat begins on Friday 4th June. The retreat finishes on Thursday 10th June.
Included in the two-week residential package are accommodation, meals and education fee for the Post Festival Retreat. You will need to book your International Spring Festival on the Kadampa Festivals website: https://kadampafestivals.org/spring then upon arrival at Tara IKRC, you will need to show your booking confirmation at registration.
Accommodation Options
There are three accommodation options: single en-suite, single and twin. A single en-suite is £535 in total. A single is £495. A twin is £870 (cost per room not per person). A 50% deposit is required to secure your place. The remaining 50% balance will be paid upon arrival. If you are a Friend of Tara, the education fee of £65 for the retreat will be deducted from your balance.
Please note: Residential bookings are dependent upon National and Local covid restrictions (in our area and your area). If we do have to cancel residential bookings, your deposit will be refunded.
Booking Options
In addition to the residential options, we offer two in-person options; one in the meditation hall and the other as a video link in other on-site meditation rooms.
Out of consideration for others, we request that only people who can commit to attending both weeks book the in-person options. You will need to show your Festival booking confirmation upon arrival.

‘A Life of Great Meaning’ Retreat with Gen-la Khyenrab: Fri 4 June – 10 June 2021
As Gen-la Khyenrab is teaching the Spring Festival at Manjushri KMC, he will travel to Tara IKRC to teach the retreat in-person. What an opportunity to be guided in retreat by the Festival teacher!
Retreat Description
Based on the blessing empowerment of Buddha Shakyamuni and teachings on the Request to the Lord of all Lineages prayer, Gen-la Khyenrab will guide us to connect with and deepen our experience of living a life filled with great meaning.
The retreat begins on Friday evening and finishes on Thursday lunchtime. Each retreat session lasts 1hr 15 mins. The retreat is suitable for beginners and experienced meditators looking to deepen their meditation practice.
The Teacher
Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab, is a principal disciple of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche who holds the lineage and blessings of his teachings. Gen-la is a retired General Spiritual Director who is now the National Spiritual Director for Canada and Resident Teacher at KMC Canada. He teaches widely at International and National Kadampa Festivals. Gen-la is greatly admired for his profound understanding of the teachings of modern Kadampa Buddhism and his ability to present them in clear, practical ways that are easy to follow and put into practice in the modern world. His humility, humour and pure example are an inspiration for thousands of people around the world.
